Glycerin is obtained by saponification of vegetable fats, most commonly coconut oil. Industrial glycerin is obtained from propylene. Due to its strong hygroscopic (water binding) properties, glycerin has a moisturizing effect. It can binds the water necessary to maintain proper skin hydration. It is especially recommended for dry skin. Glycerin delivers protection, boosts elasticity and supports the functioning of the natural water-lipid barrier of the epidermis.
